Pilot Operated

Pilot-operated relief and check valves are non-modular valves. Pilot-operated check valves allow free fluid flow through the check valve into the actuator and supply pilot pressure to the pilot port enabling flow in the opposite direction. These valves are often used for emergency relief, easing overpressure such as when a tank gets too hot. They are also used for clamping applications or preventing a negative load due to hose failure. Pilot-operated relief valves protect pumps and control valves against excessive pressures. They keep the pressure in the hydraulic system at a constant level.
